Release

7.5 Changelog

Team, 7.5 is going to focus on container rewrites and wiki upgrades.  This list will keep a list of the work completed.

Fixes for 7.5.13

  • Repair and updated rutorrent.  Appeared to be unusable prior.  Deploys and made several tweaks.  Please uninstall prior one with pgbox app removal and reinstall.  Paths have not changed, so if you are happy with your current one; it will run as is until you remove the older version.
  • Please provide feedback or any issues that you have!

Fixes for 7.5.12

  • Adjusted lidarr to new format.  Please read warning in 7.5.11. For lidarr, backup, use pgbox to remove and reinstall; then configure.

Fixes for 7.5.11

  • Tweaked pgblitz to upload every 30 seconds
  • Fixed Sonarr / Radarr / NZBGET / SABNZBD to run in natural format to cut out permission issues form the past; did 3 clean tests to ensure.
  • Tweaked a few visual outputs
  • Please review Beta 7.5.5 – 7.5.10 below for additional fixes
  • Please backup your data incase as always!
  • TIP – If you ran the BETA’s, you will need to follow the steps above.  Adjustments were made from 7.5.10

WARNING:

If upgrading to from 7.5.4 and below, you must redo the setup up sonarr, radarr, nzbget, sabnzbd if running; follow the order below.

  • use pgbox app remove – nzbget and /or sabnzbd
  • save your configuration information
  • redeploy nzbget and / or sabnzbd
  • setup nzbget and / or sabnzbd
  • sonarr (must be redeployed – nzbget and sabnzbd have default passwords so make sure it connects – plex / guide)
  • radarr (must be redeployed – nzbget/sabnzbd have default passwords so make sure it connects – plex / guide)

This was done to get rid of the complicated path structure that caused permission issues for others; we tweaked it to output naturally.

Fixes for 7.5.10  BETA

  • Tweaked Blitz Finder to move files only if they have been stuck or not uploaded for 30 minutes.

Fixes for 7.5.9  BETA

  • Added when pgblitz is restarted or rebooted, switches to next gdsa key
  • Added when blitz finder finds rogue files not uploaded after upload, it will move them to mnt move. when done 3 times, it switches GDSA keys!  Good for anyone having issues with stuck files!
  • Remember to REDEPLOY pgblitz for this to work (just redeploy and not reconfigure)

A bad file is stick after an upload. you notice we are on GDSA01.  Even if a file is stuck in GDSA01 after the upload, this process would occur

You’ll notice it triggered 3 times and was on GDSA01, now you notice the yellow arrow switches to GDSA2

Fixes for 7.5.8  BETA

  • Lowered threshold to switch GDSA keys
  • Added Blitz Finder, when blitz reports there are no files to upload; will scan all GDSA folders and if an item is found, send back to /mnt/move for processing.  This helps lost files or stuck files just sitting around.  Observe the picture below and see what happens with nice.cat2
  • You must REDEPLOY Blitz for this to work (not reconfigure)

Fixes for 7.5.7  BETA

  • Several roles repaired by IMDMonkey
  • Fixed location of gdrive clean and gcrypt clean so it can work for new setup.

Fixes for 7.5.5 Beta – 7.5.6 BETA

7.5.6 – Fixes by IMDMonkey on paths

Fixed exit error for the settings menu (visual fix)

This rewrite solves:

  • the permission issues for Sonarr/Radarr/SABNZBD/NZBGET
  • removes the complicated folder setup
  • follows the natural output of the program.
  • also /mnt:/mnt has been added as a path to all of them (for advanced users)

Install Info

  • For new installs, should be fine for testing.
  • For older installs, you must:
    • sonarr – rerun sonarr in the installer; you will not lose your data
    • radarr – rerun radarr in the installer, you will not lose your data
    • sabnzbd – remove sabnzbd with pgbox and then rerun the installer; you will lose your config data (please write down your configs)
    • nzbget – remove nzbget with pgbox and then rerun the intaller; you will lose your config data (please write down your configs

The reason for this is to undo a build up of issues since the beginning of PG (since it worked for many) but the rewrite is to address the issues for some users.

Please provide any feedback.  Next focuses are on lidarr and then the torrent fixes; while completing the writeups

Fixes for 7.5.4

NOTE:  A future add-on to this is when your running a new install, it will ask if you are recovering a server.  If so, you just enter your gdrive secret and id; select a server, asks if you want to restore all related apps to the ones you selected, mass execute and call it a day. Which will be known as PG Vault-Express

WARNING:  New Update requires you to rerun app if you established prior cron jobs.  New system required an a new file to execute cron jobs. Prior cron jobs will result in no backing up.

PG Vault Introduced

  • New 100% rewrite of the backup and restore system called PG Vault
    • PG Vault is much faster to execute
    • PG Vault executes like PG Box, where you stack apps to backup or restore; no longer a solo or mass app process

No longer setting a restore ID. When you execute the recovery process, it will check and detect what servers you have and display them.  Type the name and you will proceed onward.

  • PG Vault exempts plex cached metadata from being backed up
    • reduces file size for upload
    • reduces execution of archiving and extracting backup/restored information
  • PG Vault now shows progress of file upload, downloading and process occurring so your no longer guessing on what’s going on

  • PG Box App Removal
    • Cleaned up interface

  • Sped up app removal process
    • Tons of code cleanup, useless code removal, and visual fixes

  • Fixes for 7.5.3
    • PG Commands
      • new pg installs only
      • remove pgdev and supertransfer2 commands
    • PG Box
      • (visual fixes) output of ports info and domains stack; no longer separate (which was original intended for solo installs prior to pgbox)
    • Settings Menu
      • visual fixes, cleaned up menu and adjusted to the new style
    • Home Assistant Container Added

  • Fixes for 7.5.2
    • SABNZBD fixes
      • new installs only – setups up default username:  plex / guide
        • stops the hostname warning so you can proceeds when accessing
      • chmod’s and chown’s folder so people stop having file issues when running sab. it should not do this, but set a command in place to resolve.
    • PG Box Fixes
      • Cleaned up output when PG Box warns you if app is already installed? Proceed to install again?
    • WIKI:

  • Fixes for 7.5.1
    • Updated NETDATA container role
      • applied capabilities per ~ https://hub.docker.com/r/titpetric/netdata/
      • reduced container to solo deployment; reduces being asked version of netdata container

Sorry to put this in the 7.5 changelog, but I noticed that with the new rewrite of the PGMove to create the rclone config, it is no longer asking some key questions, like root folder value. This means I now have to go in and hand edit the config file to put it back, otherwise it breaks everything on the system. It might be a good value to add OR to add an advanced configuration menu for rclone/gdrive where people can post keys. Plus, it removed the other drive that I was using for additional backups outside of Gdrive (onedrive) so I have to either create a new rclone config (no issue, really) or hand edit, again.

It would be nice to add additional "backup" locations (OneDrive, Box, Dropbox, etc.) that are supported by rclone as an "advanced" feature, too. Just my 2 cents....

Thank you, again, for all the hard work.

ya the way it's written is so it works for most users. people normally screw up the rclone process, but will post advanced instructions for people to configure, meaning you would just type

rclone config --config /opt/appdata/plexguide/rclone.conf and you can still run the process as you have done before. what matters in the end is that gdrive and the tdrive value is there. pgblitz or move will deploy.

i was keeping Version: 7.2.4 on my main server for some time, while the PG-rewrite was taking place,
do you think its smart to update to 7.5 now? should i expect everything to break?

Will work but you will have to create a new rclone config if you redeploy blitz or move

updated from version: 7.2.4 straight to version: 7.5.1 , redeployed blitz unecrypted, all seems fine! fantastic work!

edit: i can read all my google files fine, but seems like its not uploading anything , sgdrive/stdrive/sunionfs/spgblitz all seem to be running, yet there is no "Activity" going on, pgchecker.bin gets created when deplyoing fine too

15:47 was before update then did the update and everything deploys sucesfully, services running, yet nothing gets uploaded

1544628099727.png

rebooted the system, re-redeployed the gpbliz, same

if i run /opt/appdata/pgblitz/pgblitz.sh manually, i get this output

1544628517601.png
yet the folders are there

1544628540283.png
dunno if thats eve the case of this problem, but i quess it could be ?

edit2: fixed by using the build in menu tool to move download paths to different HDD - it was unrelated test as i wanted to move downloads from the main SSD and it fixed the problem :)

edit3: moving to secondary hdd introduced more problems that it fixed, reverted my snapshot back to version: 7.2.4 , no more time to fiddle with it :(

edit4: after restoring the snapshot yesterday i jumped into it again today and everything went smooth, did the exact same process, so yea, if it doesnt work for you, just restore and try again !

@Admin9705 just a suggestion, but I would recommend a change on https://github.com/Admin9705/PlexGuide.com-The-Awesome-Plex-Server/wiki/NZBGET to read like this for the first paragraph to be more accurate:

Current
A newsgroup / torrent managing program that downloads NZBGET files and works normally in conjunction with programs such as Sonarr, Radarr, and Lidarr to track, download, extract, and complete the assembly of a requested file. NZBGET is known for it's stability and is a top recommended for use of PlexGuide over SABNZBD.
Updated
A program that manages and downloads NZB files from Usenet Newsgroups and works in conjunction with programs such as Sonarr, Radarr, and Lidarr to track, download, extract, repair, and complete the assembly of a requested file. NZBGET is known for it's stability and is a top recommendation for use with PlexGuide over SABNZBD.
Just my 2cents, helps it be clearer and more concise.

You might want to check on the mass restore option. I am getting this on a fresh system.
Code:
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[IMG]https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/11/svg/2198.svg[/IMG] NOTE: Determing File Size - plex.tar
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
2018/12/13 18:37:04 NOTICE: Config file "/root/.config/rclone/rclone.conf" not found - using defaults
2018/12/13 18:37:04 Failed to create file system for "gdrive:/plexguide/backup/BadBeaver": didn't find section in config file
expr: syntax error
The good news is that it continues on after the error.

Also, this message is a little interesting.
Code:
TASK [Downloading from Google YesDrive - plex.tar - Size: MB] ***************
What is Google YesDrive? ;)

Awesome that you have added HomeAssistant, Admin! Thanks! :D

I found a couple of things I would like to ask you about:

1. I am still having issues with Plex not backing up properly, again with a subs folder on one machine and a thumbnail folder on a different server not containing data and crashing the backup.
2. The AppGuard still prevents BitWarden from running properly, It keeps popping up asking for username and password after it gets it correctly. Muximux is having issues, but it still works.
3. Are we going to get the Read Only G and T drive setup? If not, is there a way that I could mangle it manually after setting up PGBlitz to disable the blitz part and simply have the G and T available and connected with UnionFS for my Plex server?
4. Does anyone know what/how Beets is used?

Other than that, I just rebuilt 3 servers today in just a couple of hours with no major issues other than the ones mentioned above.

:coffee:PlexGuide just keeps getting BETTER AND BETTER!! :coffee:

all to be worked out, a secret subdomain with home.domain.com is created in addition for your program.
