Extra PG Commands

Getting tired of typing long PG Commands over and over again?  Check out the list below!

General Shortcuts

Here are some handy sudo shortcuts for normal use!

  • Type rebootwhich equals sudo reboot
  • Type updatewhich equals sudo apt update
  • Type upgradewhich equals sudo apt upgrade
  • Type installwhich equals sudo apt install followed by the appname you want to install e.g. install nano
  • Type autoremovewhich equals sudo apt autoremove – This removes any unused packages after installing an app
  • Type slistwhich equals sudo ls/etc/systemd/system – This lists all current services you have installed
  • Type prunewhich equals sudo docker image prune -a – This will remove any unused docker images (Thanks to @barryclamsworth for the tip!)
  • Type tpgblitzwhich shows you the current transfer of pgblitz

Check Status of a Service

The key here is to type an s in front of what you are looking for

  • Type sgdrivewhich equals sudo systemctl status gdrive
  • Type sgcryptwhich equals sudo systemctl status gcrypt – For encrypted version
  • Type smove which equals sudo systemctl status move
  • Type sunionfs which equals sudo systemctl status unionfs
  • Type sufs which equals sudo systemctl status ufsmonitor
  • Type spgblitzwhich equals sudo systemctl status pgblitz

Edit a Service

The key here is to type an n in front of what you are editing! Also, it executes a systemctl daemon-reload automatically for you!

  • Typengdrivewhich equals sudo nano /etc/systemd/system/gdrive.service
  • Typengcryptwhich equals sudo nano /etc/systemd/system/ngcrypt.service – For encrypted version
  • Typenmovewhich equals sudo nano /etc/systemd/system/move.service
  • Typentdrivewhich equals sudo nano /etc/systemd/system/tdrive.service
  • Typentcryptwhich equals sudo nano /etc/systemd/system/tcrypt.service – For encrypted version
  • Typenunionfswhich equals sudo nano /etc/systemd/system/unionfs.service
