Hello friends!!

For a few weeks now I am suffering disconnections in the gcrypt mount, leaving the unit disconnected and unable to reconnect unless you restart the service (systemctl restart gcrypt), I don't know why,

As data for help, I use gcrypt to share torrents too (Not to download them, but share them once the download is complete, I move them to gcrypt to continue sharing by private tracker).

Logs:

gcrypt.service: Main process exited, code=exited, status=1/FAILURE
gcrypt.service: Unit entered failed state.
gcrypt.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'.
gcrypt.service: Main process exited, code=killed, status=9/KILL

Main process exited, code=killed, status=9/KILL
sytemd[1]: gcrypt.service: Unit entered failed state.
systemd[1]: gcrypt.service: Failed with result 'signal'.

Thank you so much

the only time i've seen this happen is when ram was an issue or ran out of diskspace.

Thank you for your reply like always ;) . Apparently on server never have less than 50 GB disk, so HDD for sure is OK, RAM on the other hand I think is okey, here are the stats (Have 7,5G available):

free -m -h
total used free shared buff/cache available
Mem: 15G 7,7G 257M 175M 7,7G 7,5G

Finally, this stats are normal? (At the moment I'm moving files to gcrypt, but in normal situation, this consume so much too) Because in my opinion mount use many resources, months ago this didn't happen if I'm not mistaken. Rclone?

Regards and have a good day Admin!

That doesn't look normal, looks like you have multiple pgclone's running. Reboot your server and check again.

i have the same issue: gcrypt crashes once a day or so, and "systemctl restart gcrypt" return nothing and does nothing.
the only way to get back my gcrypt dir is rebooting.
I could provide logs but tell me what logs :)

(using a 2 gb server)

thanks! i just rebooted, as soon as it happens again i'll check.

i know my server has "just" 2 gb ram, but is there any setting i can modify to obtain stability with rclone/pgmove/gcrypt?

please ,,

so let me check the details

server 2 GB ram ..
rclone need each command more the 40MB ram .. 40 x 20 MB = 800MB filled
server need maybe 250MB ram
docker need 400MB ram

and then the apps need ram

so you run out of ram !!

and all is crashed

RAM4GB minimum

yes i know that 4gb requirement... but all worked for months. i started having issues with pg version >8 so maybe mergerfs is my issue

anyway

service pgunion status ---> returns "active"
service gcrypt status ---> returns "failed (result: exit-code) status=1 FAILURE"

is there any way i can restart gcrypt without rebooting? :)

In version 8 we use mergerfs and this one need more ram as the old unionfs !!

So that's the case

It will work ( maybe )
But you run everytime out of ram .

So add more ram or reboot every 6h the hole server

in reality, 2gb is low. if nothing has changed and it started happening; then it's server issue. basically, the only reason the mounts disconnect is either a user runs out of disk space or the ram in the server is exhausted.

anyway i am trying this mod to gcrypt.service AND gdrive.service

--vfs-read-chunk-size-limit 2G

actually it's 5G, maybe is it too large for 4 GB machines?
