Without restart:

1.) login as root user !!!
{ root not sudo-user!! }

change hostname in

2.) nano /etc/hostname

3.) nano /etc/hosts accordingly

4.) sudo sysctl kernel.hostname={your new host name here}

Check your current hostname with

5.) hostname -f

6.) exit the terminal and relogin

And well done
