I picked up the following dedicated server to migrate my install to and I'm looking for some input on base configuration for the following.
Dual Intel Xeon E5-2630L v2 (Dallas, TX)
12 Cores at 2.4GHz
64GB DDR3 ECC Memory
2x 960GB Enterprise SSD
LSI 9265-8i RAID w/ Cache & BBU
I'd like to be able to run different VM's on the box to allow me to run
  • PG
  • Mail / Web Server
  • Nextcloud (Maybe)
I'm pretty familiar with VMware and the datacenter offers ESXi as an option. PG is my first priority and I'd like to get the VM specs as well as my base disk configuration setup properly so I can begin spinning up a VM to run it. Should I split PG across two VMs? One to download and the other for playback and end user apps?

Thanks for any pointers.
