Hey guys,
Figured I'd go ahead and post my setup at home. This started out as a small homelab and has grown a decent amount in my time learning. I bought my first R610 to learn, and prepare myself for the position I have at work currently (Systems Administrator). It has grown from that one R610 to all the of these servers currently. VILE-V runs my apache2 based proxy server for all of my websites and apps. I have a Windows Server 2012 R2 based domain controller, as well as Sophos UTM for my firewall needs. VILE-V contains VM's for learning purposes. VILE-V2 is only for the Plex-Suite VM. I have approx 70 users total using my Plex Media Server with 10-15 transcodes going at once. VILE-NAS was configured with 24 Western Digital WD2002FYPS drives to create a total of 4 vdevs consisting of 6 drives in RAIDZ2 configuration. I then have 4x 10GbE SFP+ cards pairing each R610 directly with segmented IP range for each: VILE-V: 10.10.10.x, and VILE-V2: 10.10.11.x. I also have an HP-V1810-48G switch, and an Edge Router Lite 3. All of this is contained in a 12U Tripplite Rolling Cage Rack. I hope you guys like it! :D It is bae.

Imgur Post - Hasn't been updated since I got the 2nd R610.

Nice, you got quite a run going on. You have more stuff way before I started. See you mostly got Windows on it. Are you ever looking to run esxi or linux on one?

I use ESXi at work, so I was looking to do something different. I'm probably going to pick up a 3rd server and I plan on running Linux KVM. Just trying to have a bit of everything running.

Nice set-up. 10-15 concurrent transcodes? Ouch. I'm big on enforcing direct play wherever possible. Always wanted an 846, problem over here is the price. You can pick up 3g backplane versions cheaply, but 6G is required for anything over 2TB drives from memory. I keep looking at cheap R5/710's, but realistically i'd just be doing it for the hell of it.

So the upside is you learn more and your not handicapped due to the ESXI processor limits. That is what I have learned.

We have residential 10Gb fiber out here now actually. It's fucking nuts... you could host a data center... literally.

Oh ya, i forgot you mentioned that. Are there any conditions on your ISP, like slow down, blockage of site and etc?
