I dear all,
i have a Subdomain Question...I have a little understanding problem.

I want to setup a feeding server.

My domainHoster is godaddy and my "normal" PlexServer is working with Cloudflare very good.

So i have a vps with a new IP Adress and im wondering if i have to add to Godaddy a Subdomain oder do i have to do this in Cloudflare?

Thanks a lot!

okay, so what i did so far:

1. Add a Subdomain at Godaddy (srv2.xyz.xy)
2. Add A Record for subdomain at Cloudflare (name is srv2 and directs to my new VPS IP Adress)

So, what do i have to do at next? What is about the C Record? i assume i have to change the adress for portainer to portainer2.srv2.xyt.xy ?

It is not working, i cant even ping my subdomain - server (using the plain ip is workig, of course...)

Change your name servers at GoDaddy to cloudflare.

At cloudflare, add a record for your subdomain - server2 point it to your second server.

Add cname name portainer.server2
Point at server2.domain.com.

hi, thanks for reply.

In GoDaddy i can not change nameservers for my SubDomain, i asume it is the same as for the "main domain"?!

In Cloudflare its like this:
Feeder (subdomain srv2.xyz.xy) points to feeder ip Adress
1590325355822.png

and
Came Portainer2 "points" to subdomain srv2.xyz.xy like

portainer is my "old" server, portainer2 is my feeder (i changed the name and redeploy...)

but it is still not deploying without errors...any ideas? Maybe LetsEncrypt Weekly Limit ?

In GoDaddy just as long as your name servers have been updated with CF ones then that is fine.

There is a limit but to bypass the limit just change the name of the sub domain and redeploy traefik. Your naming looks fine.

One thing you can do is turn the proxy off (orange)band redeploy and check if it you are able to reach portainer.

If you do new sub domain a record

Srv3 points to IP address
Cname : portainer.srv3 points to srv3.domain.com

hmm, somehow it not working...i double checkd everything, but still the Portainer Check is wrong.

I cant acces portainer via https://srv1.xyz.xy/#/auth , but not via https://portainer.srv1.xyz.xy

(i can ping my container, like radarr or portainer and the response comes from Cloudflare IP Range)

I always have ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH in my Browser. Also radarr, etc is not working...

btw. the top Domain Name in Cloudflare is correct, right?

[3] Domain Name : [srv1.xyz.xy]

if you turn off the proxy, purge the cache, clear your dns cache - are you then able to reach the subdomain?
